Read a story – Share a story: Stories from patients and providers can engage us all in increasing access to care

In December of 2017 we were heartbroken to learn that our 23 year old son had been using heroin for two years and was addicted.  We knew something was not right with him but never dreamed it was heroin.  We were sad, angry, and scared to death.  We were ashamed of ourselves as parents that we didn't figure it out sooner.  We had no idea what resources were available to help him/us.  The Emergency Department at Marshall Hospital referred us to EDCHC.

The program at EDCHC has been incredible.  The staff are kind, understanding, patient, and knowledgeable.  Our son has been free from heroin use for over nine months and is doing very well.  We are so grateful to EDCHC and feel this program saved our son's life.
